Boston College: The team has announced that linebackers coach Bill Sheridan has been promoted to defensive coordinator and Jim Reid will remain on staff as defensive ends coach.

The very best of college football: A D3 team that allowed 81 rushing yards all season. an NAIA team that permitted 85 completions in 10 games. An FCS team that led the nation in rushing yards per game and per carry. Oh, and the genius of Lincoln Riley. Crowning the statistical champions of the 2018 college football season.

North Texas: Adrian Mayes will join the staff as tight ends coach, sources tell FootballScoop. Mayes was previously on Everett Withers’ Texas State staff.

Carolina Panthers: Running backs coach Jim Skipper has announced his retirement. Skipper had been in pro football since 1983 with the USFL and spent 14 seasons in Carolina.

Wyoming: Sources tell FootballScoop that Ohio offensive line coach Bart Miller is heading to Wyoming in the same capacity. Ohio finished the 2018 season 9th in the country with 253 yards per game. Miller has also previously coached the offensive lines at Wisconsin, Minnesota, FAU and New Mexico State.

Montana Tech (NAIA): Montana Tech has an immediate opening for a defensive intern/restricted earnings coaching position. Primary responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the football program. Other responsibilities include coaching a position and potentially a special team’s unit. Must be proficient in using Hudl Video Editor, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with film breakdown and data entry is a must. A monthly stipend will be provided as well as a portion of housing. This is an entry level position. College playing experience and/or previous coaching experience in the secondary is preferred. Texas A&M: Per source, Arkansas Monticello (D-II) defensive coordinator Brandon Bailey will be joining the A&M staff.

Albany (FCS – NY): Per source, Curome Cox will be the corners coach. Cox previously coached the defensive backs at UConn and is a former graduate assistant at Maryland.

Auburn: Former Ole Miss defensive coordinator Wes McGriff, who was let go back in November, is set to be announced as Auburn’s new secondary coach Brandon Marcello tweets. Update >> Auburn has announced the addition of McGriff as a defensive assistant.

St. Francis (NAIA – IL): The University of St. Francis invites applications for a restricted earnings position on the defensive side of the ball. Position is flexible, as we are looking for the best fit. Compensation will be dependent on experience, with no benefits. Minnesota: Former Gophers head coach Jerry Kill on current Gophers head coach PJ Fleck: “He’s about himself.”

Miami Dolphins: Alabama special teams quality control coach Brendan Farrell will join the Fins’ staff as a special teams assistant, per source.

Illinois: Per source, Illinois is promoting Bob McClain, who spent last season as an offensive analyst, to offensive line coach. McClain previously worked with Illini offensive coordinator Rod Smith when he got his coaching career started at West Virginia before moving on to stops at Lenoir-Rhyne (D-II) and California University of Pennsylvania (D-II).

John Carroll (D-III – OH): John Carroll University is seeking a offensive restricted earnings coach working specifically with the quarterbacks or wide receivers. The candidate will be responsible for managing his own position group, recruiting area, in-season / post-season film breakdowns, scout team organization, as well as any other duties assigned by the offensive coordinator and head football coach. This position includes a 10 month contract. The position will not include housing or meals. Alabama: Nick Saban is hiring another former FBS head coach to his Crimson Tide staff.

Towson (FCS – MD): Former North Texas corners coach Nate Brown has accepted the corners job at Towson, sources tell FootballScoop.

Southwest Mississippi (JC): Southwest Mississippi is advertising to hire a full-time defensive position coach with benefits (possibly defensive line). See more information, and apply via this link. Deadline to apply March 4, 2019

Feather River (JC – CA): Feather River is looking for offensive and defensive assistant coaches. Duties may include assisting in football operations, recruiting, academic monitoring, practice organization, video editing, and other related activities. Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience or the equivalent is required for $9,500 coaching stipend. Teaching opportunities are also available dependent on qualifications. Indianapolis (D-II – IN): University of Indianapolis is looking for games in 2019 & 2020: The open date for 2019 is Week 7, October 19th, and the open date for 2020 is Week 3, September 19th. Open to FCS, D2 or NAIA. Please contact [email protected].

AAF: Two weeks in the upstart AAF was already reportedly on life support.

Henderson State (D-II – AR): Per source, William Jewell (D-II – AR) offensive oine coach Quinn Brown has accepted the offensive line job.

Charlotte: Tyler Chadwick has accepted an offensive graduate assistant job with the program, per source. Chadwick previously served as an offensive graduate assiistant at Coastal Carolina the past two seasons.
