Mississippi State: Mississippi State President Mark Keenum announced today what we reported yesterday, that their search is already underway. Keenum said he plans to move swiftly and is using a search firm to assist. Sources told FootballScoop that several FBS athletic directors had already submitted their interest into the process and talks had already begun. Michael Bonner, who covers Mississippi State for the Clarion Ledger, reports that head baseball coach John Cohen is the lead internal candidate. Bonner also mentions John David Wicker of Georgia Tech (senior associate AD) and Jason Cook of Texas A&M (senior associate AD of external affairs) as potential candidates due to their familiarity with State. Read more from Bonner here.

Florida: Scott Stricklin has been formally announced as AD. Jeremy Foley will stay on through Nov. 1 to assist with the transition. Stricklin’s deal at Florida is six years worth $1.076 million annually per Scott Carter.
