Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel has had the unique experience of leading some of the top offenses in the country as both a player and as a coach.
The attention to detail and being able to communicate with players is what sets the good coaches apart from the average ones. A former national title winning quarterback, Josh Heupel has that ability in spades.
Under Bob Stoops, Oklahoma has won the Big 12 with All-Americans at quarterback like Sam Bradford, Jason White and Heupel himself, and some not-quite-All-American quarterbacks like Paul Thompson and Nate Hybl. The Sooners are replacing four-year starter Landry Jones in 2013, so it’s Heupel’s job to prepare the next Sooners signal caller – most likely Blake Bell or Trevor Knight – to follow in his predecessors’ footsteps.
