2012Finalists

Doyle Jamrog Jones
Matt Doyle Jeff Jamrog Nolan Jones
Stanford Nebraska Kentucky

Matt Doyle - Assistant Athletic Director Football Operations - Stanford

Matt Doyle personifies Stanford football. He's smart, prepared, organized and constantly seeking to improve and to help others do the same. Doyle, in his 13 seasons at Stanford, is regarded by those in the profession as a consummate professional. In nominating Matt, a colleague wrote, "If you don't know how to handle something or just want to see if someone has a better way...call Matt. He's very responsive and every bit of advice he's ever given me has been spot on." As David Shaw says, "Matt is simply the best."

Jeff Jamrog - Associate Athletic Director for Football - Nebraska

Jeff Jamrog, a former walk-on at Nebraska, is still a young man; but he sure has done a lot in the game of football. Following his playing career, Jamrog spent nearly 20 years coaching (including serving as the head coach at Minnesota State for four seasons); and returned to Nebraska as assistant athletic director in 2008. Since his return, Nebraska football has become a significantly more efficient operation under Jamrog's guidance. An industry insider said of Jeff, "He's incredibly aggressive in finding ways to help the program improve."

Nolan Jones - Director of Football Operations - Kentucky

Nolan Jones is considered one of the "best in the business" by nearly everyone we've ever spoken with! Nolan is just completing his second season as the director of football operations at Kentucky, after having served in the same capacity at Northwestern for five years (and before than in operations at Princeton, Eastern Kentucky and at Kentucky in 2002). Nolan serves on the national committee of directors of football operations for the American Football Coaches Association and routinely is invited to speak on panels. Mention his name around any coach that has ever worked with him and you get the same immediate reaction, "Boy is that guy good at what he does!" In nominating Nolan, one of his peers said, "When I was just getting into this role I didn't know anything. I was told to call Nolan and he sent talked me through, and shared with me, his 'playbook' for year-round operations. That thing is now my bible and Nolan remains on my speed-dial. There is no better man in the profession that Nolan."
