    Academic Magnet (SC): Head coach Bud Walpole, fired earlier this week for smashing watermelons in a post-game celebration exercise, has been reinstated according to Daren Stoltzfus of WCIV-TV in Charleston.

    Whitehall (NY): Justin Culligan has been let go as head coach after Whitehall reportedly got into a brawl with Renesselaer during Saturday’s game, according to the Glens Falls Post-Star.

    Dunbar (MD): Lawrence Smith, who had been suspended for a year based on an alleged hazing incident, has been reinstated by the Circuit Court of Baltimore City.

    Miramar (FL): Head coach Matthew Strout has resigned for personal reasons, per the Miami Herald.

    Western Branch (VA): Western Branch HS is looking to travel out of state to play a game August 28th or September 4th 2015. Opponent needs to be within a 14 hour bus ride. Any school interested in playing us please contact head coach Greg Gibson at

    A high school coach in South Carolina has been fired…for smashing watermelons?

    Mountain Home (ID): Aaron Rodney will not finish the season as Mountain Home’s head coach. Offensive coordinator Tyrone Hutchings will take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season… which concludes on Friday.

    Four Corners-Northern New Mexico Classic (NM): The Four Corners-Northern New Mexico Football Classic 1st Annual-Hosted by The Athletic Department of Shiprock High School located in SHIPROCK, NM is looking for three out of state teams to come and play in fall 2015. The games will be played the weekend of September 4th-6th 2015. There will be three in-state Teams vs. three out-of-state Teams. Format will be one Contest Friday Evening, and two contest Saturday. A late morning contest and one evening contest. Shiprock High School has a small enrollment of Approximately 650+ students, and would prefer to have out of state Tribal schools/teams similar to us with no more than a 600 student body enrollment-AZ, CA, CO, MT, NV, OK, TX, UT, and WY.     Please keep the family of Pennridge HS (PA) head coach Jeff Hollenbach in your prayers as his father, Charles “Bud” Hollenbach, a retired Pennridge HS coach, passed away after a car accident leaving the game Friday night.

    Academic Magnet (Charleston, SC): Head coach Bud Walpole has been relieved of duties as head coach but retained as a teacher at the school after the program has started the season with a record-tying six wins. No reason has been given for the firing.

    Cypress Lake (FL): Athletics director David Wasson has been let go.

    Deshler (AL): Head coach Jake Linville, who transitioned from interim head coach to the full time gig back in March, died on Sunday. Please join us in praying for his family and community. Linville leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

    United (IN): Head coach Lance Holupka has been suspended indefinitely, and Scott Boring has been promoted to interim head coach.

    Ohio high schools staged an 83-82 shootout as one running back ran for at least 436 yards and 10 touchdowns.

    McAlester (OK): Assistant coach Jude Schlesselman is leaving the staff at the end of the semester to help install accommodation rigs (essentially floating hotels for offshore oil workers) in Dalian, China, according to the McAlester News-Capital.

    Coleman Starnes, the most successful football coach in the history of Halifax County HS (VA), died Wednesday night. He coached there from 1967-1976. Please join us in praying for coach Starnes’ family.

    Powell (TN): Head coach John Allen has been placed on administrative leave.

    Garnet Valley (PA): Head coach Mike Ricci has taken a voluntary two-week leave of absence to “recharge.”

    Belvidere (IL): Head coach Chuck Leonard has been placed on leave.
