    Please keep the family of Pennridge HS (PA) head coach Jeff Hollenbach in your prayers as his father, Charles “Bud” Hollenbach, a retired Pennridge HS coach, passed away after a car accident leaving the game Friday night.

    Academic Magnet (Charleston, SC): Head coach Bud Walpole has been relieved of duties as head coach but retained as a teacher at the school after the program has started the season with a record-tying six wins. No reason has been given for the firing.

    Cypress Lake (FL): Athletics director David Wasson has been let go.

    Deshler (AL): Head coach Jake Linville, who transitioned from interim head coach to the full time gig back in March, died on Sunday. Please join us in praying for his family and community. Linville leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

    United (IN): Head coach Lance Holupka has been suspended indefinitely, and Scott Boring has been promoted to interim head coach.

    Ohio high schools staged an 83-82 shootout as one running back ran for at least 436 yards and 10 touchdowns.

    McAlester (OK): Assistant coach Jude Schlesselman is leaving the staff at the end of the semester to help install accommodation rigs (essentially floating hotels for offshore oil workers) in Dalian, China, according to the McAlester News-Capital.

    Coleman Starnes, the most successful football coach in the history of Halifax County HS (VA), died Wednesday night. He coached there from 1967-1976. Please join us in praying for coach Starnes’ family.

    Powell (TN): Head coach John Allen has been placed on administrative leave.

    Garnet Valley (PA): Head coach Mike Ricci has taken a voluntary two-week leave of absence to “recharge.”

    Belvidere (IL): Head coach Chuck Leonard has been placed on leave.

    Ashdown (AR): Ashdown HS is looking for a Week 1 Varsity opponent for the 2015 season. Please contact head coach Matt Richardson at Mrichardson@ashdownschools.org if interested.

    Hickory (NC): Head coach Mike Helms has resigned for unspecified personal reasons.

    Ozen (TX): Ozen HS in Beaumont, Texas is looking for a week 3 opponent next year for the Beaumont Classic. Ozen is a 5A school with an enrollment of around 1,200. Week 3 in Texas falls on the 12th of September, 2015. The travel reimbursement will consist of free hotels for all the players and coaches, and free meals.     Clovis Christian (CA): Athletic director Joshua Johnson has resigned and accepted a basketball coaching position at Oak Hills Christian College (MN).

    Football Classic (Tyler, TX): The Football Classic, located in Tyler, TX is looking for two out of state teams to come and play in 2015. The games will be played the weekend of August 27th-29th. The teams already included are Brook Hill and Edgewood HS. Both teams have a small enrollment and would prefer to play teams with no more than a 700 enrollment. Travel compensation will be provided in the form of gate sales. Each team that comes will receive 40% of the gate to help offset travel costs. Update: The date has been filled. Thanks for the overwhelming response.
