Video: A great look at how coaches approach rebuilding at Minnesota

Coming off of a 3-9 season in 2010, Jerry Kill was hired as head coach of the Golden Gophers in an effort to get the program turned around.

Since then, Kill has went above and beyond his job description as a Big Ten head coach in order to make himself part of the campus community. He's done things like supply the student section with pizza before games, and make sure that fans have no lame excuses (like work) to miss their season opener on Thursday.

This video is a great look at how Jerry Kill and his staff (specifically linebackers coach Bill Miller and receivers coach Pat Poore) have approached the rebuilding process at Minnesota and their individual coaching philsophies and outlooks.

What really perked my ears as a coach was hearing how the staff works the "brick by brick" philosophy into their coaching terminology.

"We try and get the kids to hear that everyday. 'Hey, that's a brick...that's a brick there' or 'you did this, so that's a brick'".

We're looking forward to seeing more out of this series in the coming week.
