Outlook of a first year program: 'Nothing is achieved without great men'

The inaugural year for the Misericordia (D-III - PA) football program had plenty of firsts among their struggles. However, with a roster full of young players with limited to no college football experience, the Cougars will enter next season still searching for the program's first win.

Looking at the video highlights from last season, a solid foundation is in place, and the future of the program is bright moving forward.

The program now has a full staff in place and is experiencing success on the recruiting trail. The players already on the roster will undoubtedly benefit greatly from another year in the same offensive and defensive system, and will have a a full off season in a college strength and conditioning program by 2013's season opener.

The opening quote of the video puts what the program is looking for perfectly.

Doug Samuels has been with FootballScoop since 2011. Samuels joined the FootballScoop staff after serving as a college scout as well as an assistant coach at the college level, where he was fortunate enough to have coached every offensive position by age 24. Samuels is lifelong Michigan State fan and has admittedly enjoyed the past few seasons when he has been able to look forward to quality football the entire fall, instead of anxiously awaiting college basketball after the first few weeks of the college football season.
