'Every day in the SEC is 4th and 1 in the Super Bowl'
Butch Jones hasn't been at Tennessee long, but one thing he does understand is that every day in the SEC is a competition. Whether that competition is on game day or on the recruiting trail depends on the time of year.
"It's competitive in the SEC. Every day that you go to work, it's fourth and one in the Super Bowl, to win the game." Jones explained yesterday.
"Our coaches understand that. Recruiting is a daily process, it's an hour by hour process, and the one thing that you can't put a price tag on is relationships, and recruiting is a relationship business, so you're trying as fast as you can to build those relationships."
Jones went on to add that they'll still be recruiting over the coming weeks to find guys that may have slipped through the cracks that still fit the profile that they're looking for, and also explains why he's a big believer in guys reporting to college early.
