Ron English going skydiving to raise money for Eastern Michigan football

Let it never be said there was anything Ron English won't do to enhance his football program, up to and including risking his life and limb. If that sounds like hyperbole, it isn't. The Eastern Michigan head coach is offering a donor the chance to go skydiving with him.

"I'm excited to be a part of something that's never been done before on this level and at the same time, offer some memorable and once-in-a-lifetime experiences to some of our most dedicated and enthusiastic fans," said English. "Our kids work just as hard, if not harder than any team in the country and they deserve the best facilities in order to compete at a championship level."

During English's tenure at Eastern Michigan, the Eagles have already installed a new indoor practice facility and upgraded its team room and locker room. Now the program is looking to finish off the project by adding more work to its locker room and coaches' offices in addition to a beefed up weight room, equipment room and players' lounge.

So, if the program's golf fundraiser reaches its $60,000 target, one fan can win the option of leaping from an airplane and hurling toward the Earth at a rapid rate of speed right along with their favorite football coach.

Your move, Bill Snyder.
