Arizona players have unanimously voted to add yoga to their regular routine to aid in recovery (Arizona)

The past few years, college football programs across the country have placed a renewed emphasis on the recovery of their student athletes, and for obvious reasons.

A growing number of FBS programs around the country have added a nutritionist to the staff, and some programs, like Tennessee have added "sleep coaches."

Out at Arizona, Rich Rod and his staff have turned to yoga to help with the recovery process. This tweet from Arizona director of on campus recruiting and player personnel Matt Dudek details one of their visits.

"We’re more into recovery and being conscious of our guys after practices and after workouts and doing a good job with recovery. We have to do a better job as a staff." Rich Rod told Tucson.com earlier today.

"I asked the team if they wanted to do it every week during the season and it was unanimous, they wanted to."

"From a flexibility standpoint, I felt it too. I’m tight again today. Right after it was over, I felt pretty good. It will be something part of our routine now."

After talking with a few coaches, yoga is something that is quietly increasing in popularity from the high school level, all the way up to major college football programs and NFL franchises. There a number of benefits for every position on the field, for example, offensive line coaches love the flexibility training it provides for their guys, especially in the hips.

Whatever you use it for, there are clearly football related benefits to reap.
