Following last night's 24-17 loss to Notre Dame, with questions swirling about his job status, Clay Helton sat in front of reporters and answered their questions.
Helton, with conviction in his voice, reiterated that he will be back next season. "It will be my task moving forward to make sure this doesn't happen again." "We [Mr. Swann and I] meet every Monday and talk about this team and the future. Obviously we'll meet again and he'll be able to say exactly what is on his mind for the future. Like I said earlier, I'm fully confident in the support I have not only from Mr. Swann but from this administration. They have been terrific to me, our staff and our football team and I know we'll get their continued support."
Helton's Trojans finished the season 5-7.
Last night Lynn Swann told reporters he has a plan in place regarding Helton; but wanted to visit with Clay before sharing that plan with everyone. He added USC would put out a release "soon".
