Coach shares interesting carpool story involving Dino Babers, his strange white beard, and a wicked smell (Syracuse)

Long before starting his head coaching career that included successful stops at Eastern Illinois and then Bowling Green before landing his current job leading the Syracuse program, Dino Babers spent a season coaching the running backs at Pitt in 2003. There, he worked alongside current Pitt defensive line coach Charlie Partridge.

Partridge told reporters that the two used to carpool to the football facility together, and then shared a tremendous story involving his old coaching buddy.

"I pick him up one morning and he comes out of his house and I can't believe my eyes, I thought it was Santa Claus - he's got a white beard, and I didn't understand what was going on," Partridge shared.

"He gets in the car, and I smell something, and I don't say anything, and then I go 'Dino, what is on your face?'" Chuckling and imitating Babers, Partridge added "Ha ha. I wondered when you were going to ask."

"He had Nair on his face. He didn't shave, he Nair'd his face, came in and washed it off, and that was the start of my day."

Since Dino is still rocking the no-beard look, you've got to wonder if he's still Nair-ing it, or if he's switched to shaving.

Hear Partridge share the story in the video. The two friends and their programs will face off at 12:30pm EST Saturday and will try to top their wild 76-61 Pitt win from last season.
