A college head coach shares what he wishes kids knew about the recruiting process (joe osevett)

We recently ran an article canvassing college coaches for the 12 biggest red flags they've come across in the recruiting process.

Let's add one more piece of testimony to the list.

Here's what ASA College Brooklyn head coach Joe Osevet said when asked for the one thing he wished high school prospects knew about the recruiting process:

"I ask every recruit the first time I speak to them 'Do you truly LOVE football?' The reason I ask them this is that the sacrifice, time commitment and time management skills are significantly different than that of the normal student."

Osevet goes on to say players that love what benefits being a football player brings them instead of actually being a football player will not enjoy college football.
