Frisco (Texas) ISD signs $1.74 million, all-sport contract with Nike (high schools)

Later this year the Dallas Cowboys will move from their Valley Ranch headquarters to their new, $255 million digs known as The Star in Frisco, Texas, a rapidly-growing exurb northwest of Dallas.

The eight high schools in Frisco ISD will benefit from their new neighbor in a number of ways, starting with a quadruple-header to open the new facility in August. The district also signed a 10-year, $3.77 million agreement with the Dr. Pepper-Snapple group, a Cowboys sponsor, and on Monday Frisco ISD finalized a deal that will allow Nike to supply $1.74 million in apparel and discounts to all Frisco high school and middle school athletics teams.

While many aspects of the deal will be phased in over the five-year deal, all eight Frisco teams will be outfitted by Nike beginning this fall.

Nike is -- you guessed it! -- also a Cowboys sponsor.

"Had 'The Star' not been built, this deal would not have been on the table," Frisco ISD AD David Kuydendall told the Dallas Morning News. "With all that being here, and the spotlight on the facility and us playing there, I think there was some incentive for them to bring their best deal to the table."
