Jay Norvell will be the next head coach at Nevada, sources told FootballScoop Wednesday.
Norvell recently completed his first season as wide receivers coach and offensive passing game coordinator at Arizona State. Prior to that, Norvell accumulated a long list of offensive coordinator experience at Nebraska, UCLA, Oklahoma and Texas. Norvell spent six seasons coaching wide receivers and tight ends for the Indianapolis Colts and Oakland Raiders from 1998-03.
A former All-Big Ten defensive back at Iowa, Norvell launched his career as a graduate assistant for the Hawkeyes in 1986 and worked around the Midwest before leaving for the NFL.
Nevada will represent Norvell's first head coaching job.
He will replace Brian Polian, who parted ways with the Wolf Pack late last month after posting a 23-27 record in four seasons on the job.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
