Satellite camps are now banned, but Jim Harbaugh has already moved on to his next gambit: strategically placed commencement addresses.
Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, N.J., announced Monday the head Wolverine will serve as its commencement speaker for its June 9 graduation.
“Commencement is an academic ceremony. It’s not connected to athletics,” Paramus Catholic president Jim Vail told North Jersey. “But I have gotten to know Coach Harbaugh pretty well. I’m not a football guy, but I know a great educator when I see one, and he always impressed me as a great educator and great leader.
"He’s a very dynamic individual. He does many things that would make him a great role model for our students.”
Paramus Catholic just happens to be the school that produced Jabrill Peppers (the best player on Michigan's roster), Rashan Gary (an incoming Wolverine and Rivals' No. 1 player in 2016) and Drew Singleton (the No. 3 linebacker in the 2017 class, according to Rivals).
And, yes, June's commencement address was agreed to well before Friday's announcement (Michigan's compliance department was the cause for the delay), but it underscores what we wrote Friday -- that Harbaugh will find a way to get in front of recruits, one way or another.
