If you're anything like me, the natural thought progression upon hearing that Washington State athletic director Bill Moos had taken the same post at Nebraska was to start daydreaming about Nebraska lining up in five wide receiver sets slinging the ball all over the place with Mike Leach leading the Huskers after following his AD from Pullman to Lincoln.
However, Leach pointed out in his presser that he has no plans on doing that while getting peppered with questions about his now former boss.
“I don’t have any plans to do that and they already have a head coach there and he’s a pretty good one, Mike Riley," Leach stated.
Riley is 18-15 overall since arriving in Linoln in 2015, including a 9-4 season in 2016 that included a loss in the Music City Bowl. The Cornuhuskers are 3-4 this season, and are coming off a 56-14 loss to Ohio State last weekend.
Leach went on to add that Moos is the best athletic director that he has ever met, adding that he was "the ultimate Coog."
"He's the AD that everybody wanted to work for. Despite the fact that I didn't know him, I was lucky enough to get to. Bill was instrumental in guiding the facilities and stuff that were badly needed here. There's still some things we need, no question, but without Bill none of it gets done as fast or efficiently."
