Kirk Herbstreit unveiled his annual Herbie Awards on Wednesday morning, and on it were a few surprises.
For instance, Herbie has Vanderbilt as his top surprise team to make a bowl game. (Which isn't that surprising to me -- I agree with him.) But No. 2 on that list? Colorado.
Herbstreit also has Minnesota 60 minutes away from a Rose Bowl as the winners of the Big Ten West, and Texas as his No. 1 overall surprise team. (Can it really be a surprise if the Longhorns are everyone's surprise team?)
Herbie named new LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda as his top impact coordinator hire, followed by Texas OC Sterlin Gilbert, Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt, Michigan DC Don Brown and Tennessee DC Bob Shoop.
