As expected, defending national champion will open the 2015 season ranked No. 1 in both polls. The Buckeyes, already a firm No. 1 in the Coaches' Poll released late last month, made history Sunday by garnering all 61 available first-place votes.
Like their coaching counterparts, AP poll voters aren't very good at using the preseason poll as a predictor of success. The last AP preseason No. 1 to finish the season in that spot was USC way back in 2004. Before that, you'd have to go back to Florida State in 1999.
