When Ohio State announced the 6-person working group overseeing the Urban Meyer investigation, the school indicated the probe would be wrapped up “within 14 days.”

Earlier on Friday, Ohio State president Michael V. Drake implied the investigation may stretch beyond that self-imposed deadline, but on Friday afternoon the school released a statement saying the working group’s work would be completed on time.

But that doesn’t mean Ohio State will have a verdict on Meyer’s future on Sunday.

“Following receipt, the working group will share the report with the Board of Trustees in an executive session to be held next week. As required by law, public notice of the meeting will be released at least 24 hours in advance. Following deliberations with the board, and appropriate time for consideration, President Michael V. Drake will announce his decision.”

Meanwhile, Ohio State’s opener against Oregon State is two weeks from Saturday.
