Notre Dame will play Boston College next week. Except, in Notre Dame fashion, the Irish can't just play at BC's Alumni Stadium, or even the Patriot's Gillette Stadium. No, if Notre Dame is coming to Boston, it's to play at Fenway Park.
Notre Dame-Boston College completes the trilogy of recent college football games at iconic baseball venues. On Nov. 20, 2010, college football staged a day-night double-header of sorts, as Illinois defeated Northwestern at Wrigley Field that afternoon, and Notre Dame topped Army at Yankee Stadium later that day.
