The Cleveland Browns have fired Hue Jackson as their head coach, according to multiple reports. Adam Schefter first reported the news.
Jackson is the fifth straight Browns head coach to be fired after Cleveland's second game with Pittsburgh. The Browns lost to the Steelers 33-18 on Saturday. Jackson went 3-36-1 in two and a half seasons as Cleveland's head coach, including a 2-5-1 mark this season. The Browns lost three different games by three points this season. In addition to the struggles on the field, reports out of Cleveland have indicated Jackson has butted heads with general manager John Dorsey and offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
Jackson is the first NFL head coach fired during the 2018-19 cycle.
In addition to Riley and Campbell, you also have to wonder if Bob Stoops would consider this one this time. He was interested in the past sources told FootballScoop; but the offer didn't come to him then.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
Asked about the opening today, Lincoln Riley responded, "The truth is for me, I love Oklahoma. I love coaching here. I love coaching college football. I certainly don't have that itch right now."
