Matt Patricia will officially become the Detroit Lions' head coach at the completion of the Super Bowl on Sunday night, and Bill Belichick is already lining up candidates to be the Patriots' next defensive coordinator.
According to Gary Tanguay of NBC Sports Boston, Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schinao will interview for the gig next week.
Schiano, of course, worked as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach from 2012-13.
Ohio State has already lost one assistant to the NFL this winter. Cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs joined former Buckeye Mike Vrabel's staff with the Tennessee Titans.
Urban Meyer has already positioned the Buckeyes to absorb Schiano's departure with the hiring of Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. He was formally hired on Jan. 8, but his specific duties have yet to be specified.
