Few coaches have really embraced the city their team plays in quite like Tony Sanchez has at UNLV. That sentiment is reflected in the both the field and facility they’ve re-done since his arrival in 2015 after helping build Bishop Gorman HS (NV) into one of the premier high school football powerhouses in the country to take over the Rebels.

It’s only appropriate to see that Las Vegas flair carry over into the unique ways that coaches have devised to award scholarships to deserving walk-ons, and Sanchez managed to do just that recently.

Sanchez lined up a some entertainment to end their spring practices. To start things off, the magician called up walk on Ammir Azziz to help with his trick. After the magician performed, he unbuttoned his shirt to reveal an envelope with Azziz’s name on it.
