Source: Hugh Freeze expected to be Liberty head coach (Featured)

Sources with direct knowledge tell FootballScoop former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze will be the new head coach at Liberty.

As soon as Turner Gill announced his retirement, speculation immediately began that Hugh Freeze would be the choice to succeed Gill. Freeze has a well established connection with the University and its leadership.

Freeze, who is one of the only head coaches in college football to beat a Nick Saban coached Alabama team more than once, went 39-25 at Ole Miss, including a ten-win season in 2015. Freeze also previously spent time as the head coach Lambuth, where he went 20-5 in two seasons, and one season at Arkansas State where he went 10-2.
