Mark Hudspeth will be the next head coach at Austin Peay, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.

Hudspeth is set to replace Will Healy, who left to become the head coach at Charlotte.

This will be Hudspeth's third head coaching stint. He went 66-21 with five 10-win seasons and five trips to the Division II quarterfinals or semifinals as the head coach at North Alabama from 2002-08. After two years as the wide receivers coach at Mississippi State, Hudspeth was the head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette from 2011-17, leading the Ragin' Cajuns to five trips to the New Orleans Bowl.

ULL had experienced just one winning season in the 15 seasons prior to Hudspeth's arrival.

Hudspeth has spent the 2018 season as the assistant head coach & tight ends coach on Joe Moorhead's Mississippi State staff.
