Tony Softli will join XFL Seattle's staff as player personnel director, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.
With all eight head coaches on board, the XFL has begun filling staff roles while also preparing to spend the summer acquiring players, which Softli will have a role in handling for XFL Seattle. Jim Zorn will serve as head coach of XFL Seattle.
Softli played football at Washington and has spent his career working in a number of roles across the spectrum in college and professional football. Primarily, Softli spent 11 years working working in scouting and personnel for the Carolina Panthers, and then spent four seasons as the vice president of player personnel for the St. Louis Rams.
He moved into media in 2010, hosting a sports talk show in St. Louis while working on the Rams' radio crew.
In 2013, Softli took a job as director of college scouting for the NFLPA, and in 2018 he became the director of scouting for the Alliance of American Football.
Softli lives in Seattle currently, where he also owns his own sports consulting firm.
