The average Power 5 AD earns just over $927,000 a year, according to a study released by Athletic Director U and USA Today.

The ACC leads the way at $1.137 million per year, while the Pac-12 pays its ADs the least among all Power 5 leagues at $755,120.

The study found that Texas Tech’s Kirby Hocutt was the highest-paid AD on a per capita basis. His $1.45 million is not the single highest in college sports, but it accounts for the largest portion of his school’s budget — 1.75 percent of Tech’s revenue and 1.84 percent of its expenses — and the highest in comparison to his school’s head football and men’s basketball coaches.
