Tennessee has offered 20 IMG Academy players (recruiting)

To say IMG Academy's status within high school football is controversial would be putting.... lightly. Our article on Texas High School Coaches' Association president Glen West's letter to his colleagues saying IMG would "destroy our profession" drew more than 15,000 reads, 700 shares and two dozen comments. There's a nerve out there, and IMG has all five of its fingers wrapped around it.

On the heels of that -- and Michigan's visit to IMG's Florida campus next week -- consider this bit of information:

Ten of the 13 2017 offers are listed in the Rivals 250 (apparently the Vols are laying off quarterback Kellen Mond, a Baylor commit and the No. 185 player in the country), including two of the top seven players in the nation and five of the top 65.

When it's all said and done, Tennessee likely won't be the only school to offer 20 players on IMG's roster (the 2015 team carried 95 players, according to Max Preps), but they'll probably be the only ones to do it on the same day.
