Tyler Cook – UAB
FootballScoop is proud to announce that Tyler Cook is the 2017 FootballScoop Football Operations Director of the Year presented by AstroTurf as selected by prior winners.
UAB football just completed one of the most successful seasons imaginable considering the circumstances. After the program was set to be shuttered, Bill Clark and his staff fought for their program, reviving it, bringing new life and a level of excitement UAB hasn’t witnessed in a long time.
Doing so, wasn’t easy. In addition to having to manage a challenging roster situation, UAB built a new facility and had to manage more than we can explain here. Through it all, Cook stood strong with Clark as the foundation of the program.
If you need evidence, take this testimony from the head coach himself.
“Tyler is way more than my operations or right hand man, Tyler is family.” UAB head coach Bill Clark told FootballScoop. “He’s been with me the whole way from South to Jax State and now here at UAB. He’s so good with the staff and with the players. He got the facility done, held the roster together. He really does it all here at UAB.”
Cook will receive his award and be recognized at an event at the AFCA Convention.
Previous winners of the Football Operations Director of the Year award are Tom Deahn (Temple, 2009), Mike Kerin (West Virginia, 2010), Mike Sinquefield (TCU, 2011), Matt Doyle (Stanford, 2012), Jason Grooms (Ohio, 2013), Mack Butler (Oklahoma State, 2014), Mark Robinson (Florida State, 2015) and Tim Knox (Illinois, 2016).
