With all the talk on social media, television, and radio about national anthem protests and who is and isn’t taking a knee, and where people stand on the divisive issue, seeing this on social media this morning should be refreshing for a lot of folks.
Fannin County HS (GA) took the field in a truly epic fashion last Friday night, by giving each and every player in uniform a flag to carry as they broke through the banner. As the players hit the sidelines, you can see some kids right behind them waving mini-flags of their own.
According to Todd Starnes, school Superintendent Michael Gwatney told local news outlet WSB-TV, “It was an awesome and unifying moment for the audiences on both sides of our stadium and reminded us that no matter what team we support, we are all Americans.”
Credit the coaches and community for coming up with this creative idea. Really cool to see such a simple, and meaningful gesture.
