In all of SEC country, only one woman holds the coveted title of Assistant Athletic Director / Football Recruiting and Alumni Relations.
That woman is Sharon Lewis, and she's been working at LSU for 15 seasons, helping to secure a countless number of high profile recruits during that span.
"Football is my game day. The coaches do it on the field, I do it in my recruiting meetings," Lewis explains in the clip. "That's what I call my game."
In the past 15 years, a lot has changed in recruiting. Lewis notes that when she first started, scholarships were done with a typewriter, and their recruiting mailings were just letters. Now, social media and visuals are what prospects are responding to.
"Back in the day it was strictly letters, but now it's social media in terms of Twitter and Facebook. Kids like to see visuals more than the words. So we put everything that we want to say in words, in pictures where they can see it."
When asked what has been LSU's key to success in recruiting, Lewis noted their quality branding and excellent staff.
