This is flat-out great.
After Heisman hopeful Brett Hundley exited Saturday night's game with Texas midway through the first quarter with an elbow injury, UCLA turned to a little-used sophomore quarterback with a scalp full of blonde locks and a famous last name: Jerry Neuheisel.
After a slow first half, Neuheisel completed 15-of-18 passes for 132 yards and the first two touchdown passes of his career - one of which tied the game, and the other brought the Bruins back from a late deficit to give his team a 20-17 win.
In the Pac-12 Network studios, cameras caught as former UCLA quarterback and coach, and current parent Rick Neuheisel cheered his son on from afar. It's a good thing he wasn't calling the game as a Fox analyst, because I can't imagine a less objective media member in the history of sports television.
What a great moment to get on camera.
