With 1:47 remaining in their game with East Carolina on Thursday night, UCF was dead and buried. The Knights trailed 30-26 and possessed only two timeouts as East Carolina took the ball at the UCF 15-yard line. But the Pirates mismanaged the clock, and eventually gave the ball back to UCF at its own 35 - how do you lose 20 yards here? - and hit a 14-yard pass on the first play of their last-gasp chance.
Then this happened.
Central Florida won the game, 32-30, and with it a share of their second straight American Athletic Conference title. George O'Leary was quite happy.
And with good reason.
This will not be a fun film study tomorrow for East Carolina. Yup, this about sums it up for the Pirates.
