If you're among the 737,000 people that follow Kirk Herbstreit on Twitter, you likely know his NBA allegiances lie with one person: LeBron James. The native (and former) Buckeye has followed James since his well-publicized days at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron.
We now have video proof that the man isn't lying.
Back in 2001, fresh off a state championship as a sophomore and a year before he broke out nationally through a memorable Sports Illustrated cover story, a 16-year-old James was interviewed by Herbstreit for 10TV in Columbus.
Herbstreit: "What's your individual goal, right now as a 16-year-old, what's your long-term goal?"
James: "To get to the NBA."
I'd say that goal has been met about three million times over.
