XFL St. Louis announces coaching staff (xfl)

XFL St. Louis head coach Jon Hayes on Monday announced a number of members to his inaugural coaching staff.

Leading the staff will be offensive coordinator Doug Meacham. An established name at the college level, Meacham has been an offensive coordinator almost continuously since 1991, first at Georgia Military College, and then Jacksonville State, Henderson State, Samford, Houston, TCU and Kansas. He was not retained by Kansas during their 2018 season.

Rounding out the offensive staff, former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Az-Zahir Hakim will coach the wideouts, Nicholas Siciliano will coach the tight ends, and Charles Long will serve as an offensive assistant.

Hakim spent the earlier part of this year as wide receivers coach for the Alliance of American Football's San Diego Fleet. Siciliano spent 2018 as a quality control at Minnesota.

Matt Raich will be the club's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Raich spent 2018 as a defensive assistant for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Finally, Tim Lewis will coach the defensive backs. A former defensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants and secondary coach for the Steelers, Panthers, Seahawks, Falcons and 49ers, Lewis was the head coach of the AAF's Birmingham Iron.

The XFL will begin play on Feb. 8, 2020.
