Morgan State (FCS – MD): Morgan State University (FCS-MD) Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a paid Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2015-2016 school year. The candidate will report to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will include but are not limited to: The development and implementation of training programs for the Men’s Basketball Program and other assigned teams; Assessment and instruction of posture, lifting technique, flexibility/mobility drills, agility and coordination drills, plyometric drills, balance drills, weight room upkeep and equipment maintenance. This position will pay $15,000 and the contract will be through June 30th, 2016. Required Qualifications: Confirmed undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field; nationally accredited certification CSCS (NSCA) or SCCC (CSCCa); excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to motivate student-athletes and work effectively with coaches and the sport medicine staff; Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience coaching within the college strength and conditioning field; specifically Men’s Basketball. Wofford: Wofford College is seeking a young strength professional for a newly created paid internship position. The position will be hired for a 9 month period (September 2015 to May 2016) to assist with football and baseball as well as individual sport team programming responsibilities. We are looking for an individual that is interested in learning and gaining knowledge with the ability to utilize applicable preparation in training our student-athletes. In addition to a monthly stipend, meals and housing will be provided. Requirements include a college degree, certification (CSCS or SCCC) and collegiate level coaching experience. Hillsdale (D-II – MI): Former Liberty assistant strength coach Patrick Gifford has been hired as the first head strength and conditioning coach at Hillsdale College.

UMass: The UMass Football Performance Department is now accepting applications for its 2015 Fall/Winter Internship Program. This is an unpaid position (no-monetary) compensation will be provided. However the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA or the SCCC through the CSCCa. Responsibilities will include: Daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for football workouts, and supervision of training sessions. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports.
