Iowa: The University of Iowa Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2018 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The internship may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Opportunities to work with many performance monitoring technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, GPS, Omegawave, Tensiomyography and GymAware. CSCCA mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCA, USAW, or NSCA certification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Washington: University of Washington Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is now accepting applications for volunteer intern positions for Fall 2018. Interns will assist the strength and conditioning coaches in the day-to-day operations of the department and will have the opportunity to work with all of the University of Washington’s Men’s and Women’s Olympic Sports. In addition, the educational curriculum includes weekly round table discussion, assignments, and projects led by the strength and conditioning staff. Successful candidates must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Candidates must possess or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in exercise science or a related field. Finally, candidates must be working toward or currently certified by the CSCCA or NSCA. This is an unpaid volunteer position primary responsibilities with the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Department. Louisville: The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Internship program is currently accepting applications for the 2018 Fall Semester. The internship will run from Aug 2nd – Dec 11th, and you will report Aug 1st. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Candidates must be considering, pursing or possess a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for all workouts, data collection, organizing nutrition/fueling station and assist with GPS catapult systems. The internship program consists of mock interviews, presentations to the staff, weekly topics and bi-weekly evaluations. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, respectable character, 100% commitment to the program and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 5 Fall 2018 volunteer internship positions.  Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other Olympic sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the In-Season program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Participation in athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements.  There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply.
