North Texas: The University of North Texas Strength and Conditioning Department is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill volunteer internship coaching positions available for the 2019 SPRING semester. Prospective internship candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff as well as gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (both Football and Olympic sports). Please note, this is a voluntary position and there is no monetary compensation. Applicants should be committed to developing themselves as a strength and conditioning professional and devoted to working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Angelo State: Angelo State University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2019 Spring semester. The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and implement efficient and scientific training programs for assigned teams under the approval of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of training for all sports, program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As a graduate assistant within ASU Athletics, you are expected to maintain professionalism, the Angelo State University graduate assistant minimum GPA of 3.0, and must be working towards a post-baccalaureate degree. All applicants may be subject to a background check. Minimum Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, apply and be accepted into graduate school at ASU, possess or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC or CSCS), and MUST be CPR/AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: a nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and at least one (1) internship in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate setting. Position includes a tuition waiver and stipend. Davenport (D-II – MI): Davenport University is seeking applicants for 6 volunteer internships for Football (3) and Olympic Sports (3) for the Winter 2019 Semester. This position will begin January 7 th and end April 26 th . Required qualifications: Currently pursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in Exercise Science or a related field AND a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing SCCC or CSCS certifications. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE): SIUE Athletic Performance is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for an Athletic Performance internship opportunity for the Spring 2019 semester, start date is January 14 th . Duties will include assisting the athletic performance staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of the athletic performance facilities. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. This is an unpaid position; however, you will receive Division 1 experience with highly competitive programs that compete in the MAC and Ohio Valley Conference. You will gain experience using VX Sport GPS, EliteForm, Exxcentic Fly Wheel (kBox), Fusion Sport Timing System, among various other things. Preferred qualifications of interested candidates are: have or working towards attaining a bachelor’s degree, one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC or USAW and First Aid/CPR certified. Moody Air Force Base: Moody AFB is looking for an experienced strength and conditioning professional to oversee the development of a unique group of Warrior Athletes. These troops are ground based and have to face a variety of challenges while deployed. The qualified individual must be self-motivated, driven, able to think quickly, and be able to adapt to changing training conditions. Salary is commensurate with experience ($42,000-$45,000), NO benefits with 10 paid Federal Holidays. Paid Time Off accrued each pay period. Vacation time earned after one year.
