Upper Iowa: Upper Iowa University invites applications for the position of Assistant Strength and Nutrition Coach. The Assistant Strength and Nutrition Coach reports to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and will assist with the design, development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of strength and conditioning programs for 60-80 student-athletes competing in five to seven intercollegiate programs at the NCAA Division II level. The Assistant Coach will work cooperatively with coaching and athletic training staff to: develop team and individualized strength programs and nutrition plans in a positive and motivating environment, provide insight regarding health and nutrition as it relates to physical development and health, counsel student-athletes on optimal nutrition for exercise training, competition, recovery from exercise, weight management, hydration, immunity, disordered eating, travel, and supplementation, assist in the oversight and maintenance of two weight rooms and equipment, and assist with monitoring and developing of the intern program, including and not limited to the planning, supervising, and evaluating of all interns. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred in Health, Nutrition, Exercise Science or related field with a background or education in dietetics and a minimum of one year experience working in a collegiate sports nutrition and/or strength and conditioning environment. Working knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Southwestern University: The Strength and Conditioning Department at Southwestern University is seeking 3-4 candidates for a volunteer internship during the 2019 Winter/Spring Semester. Southwestern University is a member of the Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and American Southwest Conference (ASC) for football. Accepted intern candidates will have the opportunity to work with all 20 sport teams. Candidates MUST want to pursue their CSCS certification. Interns will be treated as assistants and have hands on coaching training. Candidates must show outstanding work ethic, the willingness to learn, outgoing personality, and attention to detail.  Candidates must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. This intern position is a volunteer opportunity with NO compensation. Candidates must have their own form of transportation, food, and housing. This position does offer the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree (if needed).
