Cincinnati: The University of Cincinnati Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now seeking applications for UNPAID qualified Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Summer/Season of 2018. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the UC Football Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Summer training program, set up and break down of workouts and maintenance / upkeep of the weight room. This internship also provides educational courses for professional development in the field of Strength and Conditioning, Coaching and Certification Preparation. Possible HOUSING included. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, CSCS or CSCCa certifications, CPR/AED certifications and experience participating in Collegiate Football/Athletics. Old Dominion: Old Dominion University Sports Performance Department is seeking qualified strength and conditioning volunteer interns for Summer 2018 working with Olympic Sports teams.  The internship will begin May 14th, 2018 and will continue through August 10th, 2018. Preferred qualifications: Working towards earning Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field and towards NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW certifications; Up to date CPR, First aid, and AED certification.  One year of experience in strength and conditioning program, previous coaching experience, or current/previous collegiate athlete. As stated above this is an unpaid position but those accepted for the internship will receive practical strength and conditioning experience, coaching education, hours towards undergraduate/graduate internship requirements, and understanding of the fast paced environment of Division I athletics. Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is currently seeking applicants for 3 volunteer UNPAID internships for BOTH Football (2) and Olympic Sports (1) for the Summer 2018. This position will run from May 28th to August 3rd. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position, it may fulfill course credit if necessary. Carolina Panthers: The Carolina Panthers Football Organization is currently accepting applications for TWO paid strength and conditioning internships for the 2018 Athletic Development program. Position #1- 10 MONTH SEASONAL. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program during the Off-Season as well as the duration of the In- Season. (Full time coaching experience in a team setting is required for this position) Position #2- 11 WEEK OSP. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program during the Off-Season. (Full time coaching experience in a team setting is preferred for this position) BOTH positions will begin Monday, April 2nd, 2018. Houston: The University of Houston Football Sports Performance Program is currently accepting applications for UNPAID internships to begin Sunday, May 27th, 2018 and go through Friday, August 3rd, 2018. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree, SCCC certification, and potentially offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football sports performance staff with the implementation of the summer off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes. New Mexico: The University of New Mexico Football Athletic Performance Department is currently accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER Intern Strength and Conditioning coach position for the Summer 2018 semester. This is an UNPAID volunteer position, but academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related degree program if applicable. We are seeking highly passionate individuals who want to excel in the field of strength and conditioning. If this position is not economically feasible, please do not apply. Responsibilities:  involvement in the supervision of training sessions, assisting with daily administrative tasks, data collection, daily set-up and breakdown of equipment, and operations for Football. Provisions: practical experience working with Division 1 collegiate football student-athletes and coaches, an extensive professional development program, CSCS preparation curriculum, and opportunity to expand your network. Qualifications: Highly motivated individuals seeking a college degree or completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and current CPR certification. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise related field and SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification. The position will begin May 30th, and conclude July 31st. Middle Tennessee State: Matt Hickmann has been hired as the team’s head strength and conditioning coach. Hickmann, who spent the past two seasons at NC State in an assistant strength and conditioning role, takes over for Jason Spray who resigned in early January.

Morehead State (FCS – KY): Morehead State University Strength and Conditioning has 1 graduate assistant position opening. Responsibilities include: Program design and Implementation. Other responsibility include communication with coaches, athletic training staff and administration. Applicants must have bachelors degree (preferable exercise science or related field.) Must have good people skills, leadership skills, the ability to think on your feet and desire to improve athletic performance of student athletes. Bring energy and passion about coaching to the room. Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for four VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) interns for SUMMER 2018. The internship will last from May 29 – July 27. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
