Minnesota: The University of Minnesota Athletic Performance Department (Cal Dietz) is seeking highly motivated applicants to fill SPRING 2018 (January – May) Sports Science Internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Qualified candidates will work directly with Men’s and Women’s Hockey. This internship can be used for course credits. Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Download/analyze Catapult and Polar Team 2 data from practices/games/training sessions Conduct and analyze weekly Tensiomyography and Omegawave tests Download/analyze force plate, EMG, Moxy, 1080 Sprint and Quantum data Professional development, including various educational assignments during the internship Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency and strong work ethic. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCa or NSCA certification(s), and proficient in technology. COMPENSATION: This is an un-paid volunteer position. Interns will have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Kentucky State: Kentucky State University is hiring two Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Job Summary: To lead all strength and conditioning activities for 1-2 athletic programs and assist in all strength and conditioning activities for all sports in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of Kentucky State University and the NCAA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Program design, organization and implementation for 1-2 athletic programs at Kentucky State University. Must maintain up-to-date records of all programming, testing and assessments of assigned teams. Assist in the maintenance and daily upkeep of all equipment within the Alumni Stadium athletic weight room and the training facilities within the Exum Center. Must maintain professional working relationships with athletic training and all members of coaching staffs. Must demonstrate the ability to clearly and professionally communicate with student-athletes, administration and staff. Other duties as assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or similar field. Acceptance into a graduate program offered at Kentucky State University. Must be CPR, AED and First aid certified or have the ability to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certification within first 30 days of beginning position. CSCS or CSCCa certified PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of collegiate strength & conditioning experience is preferred in an undergraduate internship or professional internship capacity. Compensation: This is a 12 month position that includes a $6,000 stipend and a tuition waiver applied to a graduate program offered by Kentucky State University. Winthrop: Winthrop University Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for Interns, for the FALL SEMESTER 2018 Strength and Conditioning Program. Responsibilities include assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Winthrop Athletic Program. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their degree in an Exercise Science undergraduate/graduate program and should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong desire to be a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, high energy and incredible work ethic, team player and an athlete first mentality. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or similar field. National certification or working towards becoming certified. One year of collegiate strength & conditioning experience is preferred in an undergraduate internship or professional internship capacity.
