Southern Illlinois Edwardsville: SIUE is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. Candidates must have a great work ethic, strong communication skills, and be passionate about continually progressing as a strength and conditioning professional. The position requires certification in First Aid and CPR, and progress towards CSCS and or SCCC. Preference will be given to applicants that have already obtained at least one of the aforementioned certifications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the director and assistant director in the design and implementation of training programs; meeting with sport coaches and athletic trainers to collaborate on program design and modifications; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; and other duties as assigned by the director of athletic performance. The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year assignment beginning with the 2019-20 academic year and includes a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a monthly stipend. McNeese State: The McNeese State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a paid part-time assistant coach position. The hired candidate will have the opportunity to program and coach their own teams and assistant with football at the Division I level.  This position pays $12,000 annually with NO other monetary compensation. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science related field, CPR and AED certified, and must have obtained either CSCS or SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Exercise Science related field and USAW certification. Responsibilities include, programming and implementing safe training for assigned sports, assisting with programming and implementation of training for football, and daily maintenance of the weight room and nutrition center. William & Mary (FCS – VA): The College of William and Mary Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for 2-3 Athletic Performance Interns and 1 Data Science Intern for the 2019 summer semester. The position will start in late May and end in late July. Gear and some meals will be provided, but this position is UNPAID, so please apply only if this is financially feasible for you. Successful applicants should expect to benefit from exposure to the working environment of Division 1 Athletics, continuing high performance education, and the opportunity to further develop as coaches and technicians in a practical setting, and also earn recommendations for future employment. Interns will be expected to support the daily functioning of the department: administrative and maintenance; session set-up and break-down, data collection, processing and management, research and project development, and most importantly, assisting with coaching the athletes. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: strong desire to pursue a career in athletic performance, current or prior academic background in exercise science-related field, highly motivated and self-starting. Additionally for Data Science internship: current or prior academic background in data science or related field, experience with coding and data visualization. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: prior experience working in an athletic performance setting, currently hold or working towards accredited certification (CSCCa, NSCA, UKSCA, ASCA etc…), CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Sacramento State (FCS): The Sacramento State University Football Strength and Conditioning Program is currently accepting applications for UNPAID internships to begin Sunday, May 26th, 2019 and go through Friday, August 2nd, 2019. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree, SCCC certification, and potentially offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the summer off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes.
