East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for 2-3 hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and are able to assist with coaching Division 1 Football Student- Athletes for the Summer and/or Fall 2018 Semester(s). The people chosen for this position must be able to begin May 29 th and work through July 31 st for the Summer internship, and begin August 1 st and work through November 30 th for the Fall internship. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Louisiana-Lafayette: The University of Louisiana, a member of the NCAA Division I and the Sun Belt Conference located in Lafayette, La, is currently accepting applications for the Olympic Sports volunteer internship program for the summer. The members of the internship program report directly to the Director of Strength and Conditioning while working collaboratively as a member of the Ragin’ Cajuns Strength and Conditioning Team. The position is responsible for assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff in all departmental functions. The successful candidates will be taken through an educational curriculum as well as have the opportunity to gain practical experience working with a variety of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes. This is a volunteer position and no monetary compensation will be provided. Interested candidates must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency and a willingness to work. Qualifications include completed or completing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field and acquired or working towards a certification through CSCCa / NSCA / USAW. Southern Illinois-Edwardsville: SIUE Athletic Performance is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for an Athletic Performance internship opportunity for the Summer 2018 semester. Duties will include assisting the athletic performance staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of the athletic performance facilities. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. This is an unpaid position; however, you will receive Division 1 experience with highly competitive programs that compete in the MAC, SoCon and Ohio Valley Conference. Preferred qualifications of interested candidates are: have or working towards attaining a bachelor’s degree, one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC or USAW and First Aid/CPR certified. Ball State: Ball State Football is now accepting applications for two different graduate assistant positions. FAU: Florida Atlantic Owls Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for volunteer internship positions. Report date is May 14th and will run through the end of July. These are unpaid positions. Candidates should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS and current CPR/AED certification. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates will have opportunities to work with Football and with other Olympic Sports if desired and complete weekly assignments as part of the internship curriculum.
