Syracuse: The Syracuse University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches during Spring 2018. This experience will expose participants to all facets of Strength and Conditioning; programming, program implementation, nutrition, facility management, and much more. Interns will receive experience working in an ACC, Division-I, training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit (if applicable). Our program is looking for individuals that exhibit punctuality, enthusiasm, and diligence. Preferred qualifications include the achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field of study, SCCC Certification, CSCS certification, USAW certification, and/or CPR/First Aid certification. Marshall: The Marshall Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for its 2018 Winter Internship Program. This unpaid position will have the unique opportunity to work with both the Football and Olympic strength personnel. Selected candidates may have an opportunity for FREE off-campus hosing during the length of the internship. This position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Candidates interested in this position should be: hardworking, passionate, motivated, and detail orientated individuals ‘s who have the desire to work in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field and be working toward certification through the NSCA, or CSCCa. Responsibilities will include: Daily setup and break down of weight rooms and field workouts, and supervision/coaching of training sessions. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports. Wisconsin: The University of Wisconsin Football Strength and Conditioning Internship program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2018 semester. The internship will begin Jan 9th, 2018 and will end May 8 th , 2018. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Candidates must be considering pursuing or possess a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for all workouts, data collection and assist with gps catapult systems. The intern program consists of mock interviews, presentations to the staff, weekly topics and bi-weekly evaluations. Candidates must possess strong work ethic, respectable character, 100% commitment to the program and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. Catawba (D-II – NC): Catawba Strength & Conditioning is seeking applications for ONE UNPAID 2018 Internship set to begin January 3nd, 2018 and end April 30th, 2018. You will be given the month of May off. Having a part time job around team scheduling is allowed. Experience with Olympic Sports is preferred. The position will assist with Football and a minimum of three other teams, men and women, based on experience. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength/Performance Coach. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of program administration. The position requires working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As an intern within Catawba Strength & Conditioning, you will follow an 11-week curriculum that allows you to learn how to: learn and teach proper lifting position and technique, research relevant training modalities, create exercise banks, develop training programs and manipulate those programs based on time of year, sport-specificity, exercise progression, training age, and available equipment. You will also be given monthly performance reviews to help you improve your abilities as a Strength Coach. All interns, if applicable, will have the opportunity for credit towards graduation with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related major. Delaware: Delaware is looking to hire a part-time strength and conditioning assistant (25 hours per week). Bachelor’s degree required (in related field). FAU: Florida Atlantic Owls Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for volunteer internship positions for the 2018 Spring Semester. Start DateJanuary 16th. These are unpaid positions. Candidates should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS and current CPR/AED certification. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates will have opportunities to work with Football and with other Olympic Sports if desired and complete weekly assignments as part of the internship curriculum. Cumberland: Cumberland University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the position of graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Spring 2018 semester. The position will begin January 4, 2018. Qualifications: Completed or working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field; acceptance into Cumberland University graduate program; current CPR/AED certification; desire to pursue career as a strength and conditioning coach; strong work ethic; punctual. Preferred: Currently possess or working toward CSCS or SCCC certification; previous internship/coaching experience; ability to work with Microsoft Office programs. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: Assisting head strength coach with the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning/sports performance programs; supervision and instruction of training sessions to athletes including all assigned teams; data entry; daily maintenance and upkeep of weightroom facility, and any other duties assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. Southwestern University (TX): Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for twenty varsity sports in cooperation with the respective head coaches. This position is responsible for supervising workouts, providing student-athletes with proper guidance and training techniques, assisting with injury rehabilitation in conjunction with the athletic training staff, and designing effective, sport specific training sessions. The candidate may be eligible for faculty status and teach in the Fitness and Recreation Activities (FRA) and/or Exercise and Sports Science (ESS) programs. This is a 12 month, full time, exempt position with benefits. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level, hold a current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and/or the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification, and hold current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid. The successful candidate is expected to comply with departmental guidelines set forth by Southwestern University, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, American Southwest Conference (football only) and the NCAA Division III. Additional duties may include administrative duties, etc. as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Preferred starting date is January 15, 2018.
