Florida State: Florida State Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for SUMMER 2019. This is a VOLUNTEER, UNPAID, position and offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the training of the Florida State University’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. The internship start date would be in May and end in July. Minimum Qualifications: must have a STONG WORK-ETHIC, ENTHUSIASM and a DESIRE to develop the characteristics necessary TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Old Dominion: The Old Dominion University Sports Performance department is now accepting applications for 1 UNPAID intern for the Spring semester. This internship will begin as soon as possible and expect to last till May 2019. Depending on performance, this intern may be asked to return for a summer and fall internship. Those chosen will gain valuable experience working within a Division 1 sports performance department while assisting with the design and implementation for sports such as football and field hockey. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the sports performance programs, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facility, assisting with nutritional station duties, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a strong desire to become a sports performance professional.
