Iowa State: Iowa State University’s Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking 2-4 qualified volunteer candidates for the Fall 2018 semester. This is an unpaid position, no monetary compensation will be provided. Candidates must be using this experience working towards ACADEMIC CREDIT at their respective university. No applicants will be accepted if this is not for academic credit. Accepted applicants will gain experience working at the Division I collegiate level with football. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, and participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the semester. Required Certifications: CPR/AED and Preferred Certifications: CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS). The candidate(s) must possess strong communication skills, motivational skills, and must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional at the collegiate or professional level. Albany: The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the fall of 2018. This internship will begin August 22nd and will conclude in December of 2018. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Football and all seventeen Olympic Sports. Interns will assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. These are unpaid positions. Start date is ASAP and the internship will finish at the conclusion of the season. Purdue: Purdue Strength & Conditioning OLYMPIC SPORTS is currently accepting applications for UNPAID internship positions for FALL 2018. The deadline for application is July 2nd, 2018. Applications will be reviewed once they are received, therefore; applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The internship will begin August 13th and conclude December 14th (18 week duration). Intern responsibilities include; assisting with the training of all sport teams, participating in weekly educational sessions, and completing all tasks assigned by strength staff. Qualifications: All applicants must be enrolled in coursework and receiving credit during the time of the internship to be eligible. All applicants should be highly motivated, hardworking and possess a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional with a definitive plan to take a nationally recognized certification (CSCCa, NSCA, USAW, etc.) upon completion of the internship, if not sooner. Indianapolis (D-II – IN): The University of Indianapolis Strength & Conditioning program is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength and conditioning interns for Fall 2018. This is an unpaid position that will last for the duration of the semester with an estimated start date of August 27th, 2018. Applicants can receive academic credits if applicable. An educational curriculum will be provided as well as practical experience working with all students-athletes. Required qualifications include working towards or completion of Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic, able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, and a strong desire to learn and teach the Olympic weightlifting movements. UNC Charlotte: UNC Charlotte is looking for a paid intern to work track and field for the 2018-2019 school year. This is a 10-month position that will run from August through the end of May. Interns will gain practical experience while working in a Division I Strength & Conditioning setting. Track and field experience preferred, but not required. Successful candidates will assist in organizing, implementing of the University of North Carolina at CharlotteTrack and Field Program. This includes but is not limited to the areas of movement assessment, exercise technique progression, dynamic warm-up, strength training, soft tissue/flexibility, and performance testing. Stony Brook (FCS – NY): Stony Brook University is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill internship positions during the Fall 2018 semester. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience working in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. It may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, including Football, daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development assignments throughout internship curriculum. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Utah Valley: Utah Valley University is looking to fill an opening for a part time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the upcoming 2018-19 school year(Starting date no later than August 1).  Looking for a candidate who has their CSCS or CSCCA, and at least 2 years of experience(Intern and/or grad assistant experience can count).  Successful candidate will have the opportunity to have sole responsibility for 3-4 Division 1 teams.  Total pay for the school year(August 1 – the end of April) is $6,000, evenly spread out over the 9 months.  Successful candidate would also have the schedule flexibility to be able to secure other outside employment to supplement their income if necessary.  To officially apply, email a cover letter, resume, and list of three professional references to Coach Eldon Brough(Head Strength & Conditioning Coach) at [email protected]. Wright State (OH): Wright State University is seeking three (3) volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the fall of 2018. This is an UNPAID position. Accepted applicants will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, as well as class credit and the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum. Required qualifications: First Aid/CPR/AED training, the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, the ability to commit to AT LEAST 20 hours per week, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, or in the process of obtaining any or all of the aforementioned certifications, and previous coaching experience. Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, intern curriculum assignments and projects, and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise.
