Albany: The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the summer of 2019. This internship will begin in June (TBA) and will conclude in August of 2019. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Football and all seventeen Olympic Sports. Interns will assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Colorado: Per source, Edward “Teddy” O’Connor and Joseph “DD” Goodson have joined the Colorado strength staff. O’Connor spent the 2018 season on the Louisville staff, while Goodson was at Hawaii.

Notre Dame: The University of Notre Dame Department of Athletics is accepting applications for on-call football interns to begin Summer 2019. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. It also provides the opportunity to gain exposure on a national NCAA Division I team, while increasing marketability to a future employer. Responsibilities will include: Assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of Notre Dame’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a strong work-ethic, a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, pursuing CSCCA-SCCC certification or relevant certification from one of the following: CSCCa; NSCA, USAW, and pursing CPR –First Aid certification. Central Michigan: The Central Michigan University Strength and Conditioning Department has Summer 2019 unpaid academic internship opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate degree seeking students. These academic internship positions are designed to engage current students actively seeking a career in Strength & Conditioning with the day-to-day operations of a Division I weight room. Students will be exposed to all aspects of a NCAA Division I Strength & Conditioning program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:assisting with the supervision and training of ALL varsity programs that are on campus, completing weekly requirements set out with a hands on weekly curriculum, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties, and teaching techniques in a wide variety of lifts. These intern positions provide the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working in a dynamic, educational based, and collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will be certified or actively pursuing certification from the NSCA, CSCCa, and/or USAW. Interns should be prepared to work up to 40 hours/week, which may include days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. All interns will receive instruction in, and be required to comply with, NCAA and Central Michigan University rules, regulations and policies. Lamar: The Lamar University Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for strength and conditioning intern positions for the summer and fall 2019 semesters. Our summer internship will begin on May 31st and fall internship will begin August 23rd. Qualified candidates will work directly with a FCS Playoff Football program along with all Olympic sports teams. Education through experience is our main goal. This includes daily coaching opportunities, opportunities to lead small team sessions, continuing education, an internship curriculum, expansion of network connections, and daily weight room maintenance.
