Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have hired Brent Salazar as strength and conditioning coach. Salazar has been with the Chiefs since 2007 as an assistant strength coach.
Houston: The University of Houston Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Performance Interns for Football and Olympic Sports for the Summer of 2016. The Houston Performance staff is looking for highly motivated, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level of strength and conditioning. The program is beneficial for the undergraduate student and the post bachelor professional looking for experience; as well as develops the necessary skills to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week with the Athletic Performance Department. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in the field of Exercise Science or related and prior experience participating in college athletics, however it is not a requirement. South Carolina: The University of South Carolina Strength & Conditioning department are accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Interns for Football Spotters and Track & Field for the Summer 2016 semester (May 25th- July 29th). This is a highly competitive and demanding internship. Compensation: Division I experience, earned recommendation for future career opportunities, and college credit toward graduation if applicable. No monetary compensation will be provided. Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Strong work ethic, Highly motivated; Must be in a Bachelor’s degree program geared toward Exercise Physiology or a related field; CPR/AED certification; Experience as a college athlete or in a college strength and conditioning setting.
